GeneralFlynn.com header — font comparison

Prepared for Perry Van Schelt · 6 October 2026

Both versions below use open-licensed fonts that can be hosted directly on the site, so there is no Creative Cloud subscription to keep alive and no licensing problem. In both, Anton replaces Impact for the headline.

The difference between them is only the condensed passages — the navigation, the smaller headings and the buttons, which you set in Futura PT Cond:

What I need from you Which of the two is closer to your intent, and if Option B, whether 75% is the right width or you want it narrower or wider. Any number between 62% and 125% is available.

Option A Jost throughout + Anton for the headline

Side by side, same lines

The same text set both ways, so the width difference is easier to judge without scrolling between the two full versions above. At these sizes Option B runs roughly 18% narrower.

Two caveats. I have inferred which text uses which weight from the comp, since we have not settled a type specification yet — if I have put something in the wrong face, say so and I will correct it. And the logo here is a dashed placeholder, not type: the real logo is artwork and is unaffected by any of this.

Headline, subhead and body text are deliberately left in the lighter faces in both versions, so the only thing changing between A and B is the condensed material.
